Free Social Skills Flippy Book and Desk Mate

I'm so excited to share with you this freebie.

If you need to explicitly teach social skills, manners and expectations in your room, then this four page, freebie might just help.

As you know, some students grasp many of the classroom expectations rather quickly with only a few reminders and minimal modeling.  They may be really competent at some but not at others.

Some of our students need more than a poster, a reminder or praise.  That's why I love these mini flippy books! They are fun and suited to a range of skills for all your students.

(Raise your Hand and Line up Quietly)

I like to begin discussing a social skill that is a general trend in the classroom.

Have students help you brainstorm the responses to the end of the sentence e.g.

Raise your hand to ....
Raise your hand when ....
Raise your hand because ..

Complete an anchor chart using large paper, cardboard or butcher's paper.

Here's an example of an anchor chart for 'I work as a team' which can be found in our Social Skills Flippy Books with Manners/Expectations Posters

Be sure to keep these as students will refer to them to complete their flip book (or use their own responses). If you create a few, staple them together and refer to them as needed over the year.

Students then work on their individual flippy book either by them self or in a small guided group (depending on grade level).

  1. What a great freebie. Exactly what my kids are needing right now. They seem to have forgotten all the rules and gone back to first term mode.
    Thanks
