Getting your Classroom Library Organized
I love books and I love to organize. I need students to have a sense of autonomy within the classroom and thought that these Book Bin Labels were the perfect thing.

I know that many teachers fund their own classroom library and here are some ideas on where to find affordable books.
1. I like to visit yard sales and offer price to take the lot off their hands. You are more likely to get a cheaper price if you offer to take the whole pile!
2. Thrift stores or second-hand stores always have a pile of books that have been pre-loved. I spend hours looking through these stores and you will be surprised at what you might find.
3. Dollar stores tend to have cheaper books and I'm always on the look out for audio books for my personal collection too!
4. Look out for book sales close by or online.
I love finding bargains on Ebay and Amazon. I find that if you search for auctions (if you're into that) and I usually type in 'children's books' and sometimes also lots, bulk or bundle. If you search local to you (click local), you may be able to pick up the purchase and save on postage (you will need to see if the seller offers this option).

5. I also ask friends and family from time to time, if they have any books that their children have outgrown and don't want any more. They are usually very happy to give them away.
Be sure to pop a washing basket or old box in the back of your car to help you get them home.

I love searching op shops for old books! It has helped me build quite a good library for years 5-6, then for year 2 and now I'm working on my kinder library :)

Me too Brooke. You can always find classics and sometimes box sets in op shops. Have you searched on Ebay for pre-loved books or even new sets in bulk? I also found wooden puzzles on their too, I think I paid $70 for 24 new puzzle about two years ago. Em :)
